National Deworming Day 2024: Spreading Awareness & Ensuring Student Health

Happy Foundation’s Initiative on National Deworming Day

On the occasion of National Deworming Day 2024, Happy Foundation took a proactive step toward safeguarding children’s health by conducting awareness and deworming activities across 3–4 schools on February 10, 2024.

National Deworming Day is a crucial public health initiative aimed at protecting children from parasitic worm infections that can lead to malnutrition, anemia, and poor physical and cognitive development. Recognizing the importance of early prevention, Happy Foundation focused on educating students while ensuring they received proper medical support.

Educating Young Minds for a Healthier Future

As part of the initiative, awareness sessions were conducted to help students understand:

  • What deworming is and why it is important
  • How worm infections affect growth, nutrition, and learning
  • The role of hygiene and cleanliness in preventing infections

These sessions were designed in a simple and engaging manner so that children could easily grasp the importance of healthy habits.

Collaboration for Effective Health Intervention

In collaboration with local government hospitals, deworming tablets were distributed to students, ensuring safe and medically supervised administration. This partnership strengthened the effectiveness of the program and ensured adherence to public health guidelines.

To further promote well-being and encourage participation, nutritious tiffins were distributed to all children, reinforcing the message that good nutrition and deworming go hand in hand.

Key Highlights of the Initiative

  • Awareness sessions conducted in 3–4 schools
  • Deworming tablets distributed in collaboration with local government hospitals
  • Nutritious tiffins provided to 500–600 students
